Answer to Question 1

The term organizational domain refers to the particular range of goods and services that the organization produces, and the customers and other stakeholders it serves. An organization establishes its domain by deciding how to manage the forces in its environment to maximize its ability to secure important resources. To obtain inputs, for example, an organization has to decide which suppliers to deal with from the range of possible suppliers and how to manage its relationships with its chosen suppliers. To obtain money, an organization has to decide which bank to deal with and how to manage its relationship with the bank so that the bank will be inclined to authorize a loan. To obtain customers, a company has to decide which set of customers it is going to serve and then how to satisfy their needs.
