They include legitimate, coercive, reward, connection, charismatic, and information. Legitimate power is power that is given to you by the company. Coercive power is also given to you by the company, but coercive power uses threats and punishment. Reward power is the ability to influence someone with something of value. Connection power is based on using someone else's legitimate power (such as name-dropping). Charismatic power is personal power that makes someone attracted to you by your charisma (personality). Expert power is based on one's expertise. Finally, information power is based upon an individual's ability to obtain and share information.
