In Microsoft Visio 2013, describe the possible cardinality settings for a Relationship object that can be set in the symbols menu in a database design, and how these settings correspond to the IE Crow's Foot symbols shown in Figure F-20.

Answer to Question 1

There are five possible settings, and four of these corresponding to IE Crow's Foot symbols in Figure F-21 (repeated Figure 5-8). These are:

Zero or more, which corresponds to Many-Optional
1 or more, which corresponds to Many-Mandatory
Zero or 1, which corresponds to One-Optional
1 and exactly 1, which corresponds to One-Mandatory

The fifth setting allows us to set the cardinality to a specific range.
