Answer to Question 1

Before the NetBeans IDE is installed, we must install the Java Development Kit (JDK), because NetBeans is written in Java. The JDK and the NetBeans IDE can be downloaded at the same time from Oracle corporation at www.oracle.com. Unlike most other program installations, we install the JDK and the NetBeans IDE directly onto our workstation from this Web site.
