If a Web server is running the Linux operating system, the Web server software will usually be Apache, the database will typically be MySQL, and the Web pages may use PHP and Pearl to integrate application logic with HTML. This combination is called LAMP. Note that Apache, MySQL and PHP/Pearl can run on a Windows systems, in which case the combination is referred to as WAMP.
