Answer to Question 1

A

Answer to Question 2

There are four popular data integrity control methods: default value, range control, referential integrity, and null value control. A default value is the value a field will assume unless an explicit value is entered for the field. Range control is when both numeric and alphabetic data may have a limited set of permissible values. The most common example of referential integrity is cross-referencing between relations. (The definition of referential integrity is given in a different chapter so the student may use an example). A null value is a special field value, distinct from a zero, blank, or any other value, that indicates that the value for the field is missing or otherwise unknown.
