Answer to Question 1

Scalar functions operate on each record individually. An example is the MONTH function that extracts the integer for the current month from a date. When used, this function extracts the month for every record in the query. Aggregate functions work on sets of records. The Sum function, for instance, totals all the records in a set and returns a single value.

Answer to Question 2

FALSE
