Integration is defined as the sharing of data and data elements directly with the ERP system without data redundancy or copying of data to another table or database. This is especially important in the context of trying to connect third party products to the ERP system. One must decide whether to integrate them directly or to use an interface to connect them. In general, the interfaces should one-way either to the third party component or from the component to the ERP system.
