A use case is a textual narrative, but it must have four well-defined components to qualify as a use case: a goal as the successful outcome of the use case; stakeholders whose interests are affected by the outcome, including actor(s) who interact with the system to achieve the goal; a system that provides the required services for the actors;and a step-by-step scenario that guides both the actor(s) and the system toward the finish line.
