Answer to Question 1

XML is a language for describing data in a standardized way so that different applications can use the same piece of data. Web Services are created by wrapping XML around a piece of software that performs a function. The XML wrapper describes the services its bundle provides.

UDDI is an alternative to using a URL to find a Web Service. It utilizes a UDDI registry that can be searched to meet search parameters.

Simple object access protocol (SOAP) is an XML-based communication protocol that works over any network and with any equipment.

WSDL uses a service description to describe the service, how to make a request for it, the data it needs to perform its work, and the results it will deliver. WSDL provides a standard language that can be used by Web Services.
