What is the purpose of a literature circle? How should students be grouped, and what should their roles be within literature circles? What is the teacher's role in literature circles?

Answers should include information about roles of students, all students in the group reading the same book, all students coming into the circle with ideas to share, the teacher building interest in the story and facilitating the group's functioning, knowing how to share and what to share, and integrating technology.

Answers should include information about choosing the right literature to read, preparing to read, setting the mood, introducing the story, activities after reading, allowing others to present literature, helping children select books, organizing reading workshops, using mini-lessons, sustained silent reading, literature circles and how they should be organized, responding to literature through journals or other kinds of writing, and discussing books.
