Answer to Question 1

TRUE

Answer to Question 2

One advantage of the datagram method is that, as there is no predetermined route, datagrams require little overhead, therefore the routing information does not have to be maintained for the stream of packets that make up a message. A second advantage is that datagrams are flexible in that they can take alternative routes to get to their destination. If a link within a cloud is bad, congested, or unavailable for some reason, a datagram can be routed around it. Because datagrams can be routed through alternative links, should one or more links fail, datagrams are more consistent in terms of delivery. Also, because datagrams do not require any setup procedures between the sender and the receiver, the datagram method of service is faster than virtual-circuit packet services. A disadvantage of datagram delivery, however, is that routing decisions, which require time, must be made at each link that a datagram traverses through.
