Answer to Question 1

FALSE

Answer to Question 2

Like XML, SOAP is a standard maintained by the W3C. A key advantage of SOAP is that it uses two widely implemented protocols, XML and HTTP. Because SOAP automatically supports these two protocols, it enables existing Web-based programs to be more accessible to a greater range of users. Microsoft's Internet Information Server (IIS) and the open-source Apache Web server, which together direct over half of the world's Internet traffic, are already SOAP enabled.

Or

Another significant advantage of SOAP is that it allows a device running one kind of operating system to communicate with a device running a different kind of operating system. Because the two devices can be running different operating systems, and yet have a seamless communication, the communication is said to be transparent. This transparent communication can occur because the protocols being used, HTTP and XML, are widely implemented standards used by all major modern operating system platforms.
