In the IP address scheme, the enterprise network can be compared with your city, which likely has many streets. The network portion of the IP address compares with your specific street, on which there are likely many houses or apartments. The host portion of the same IP address compares with your house or apartment number, which is specific to you and your household. The result is that you have been identified by your individual address within a street, within a city, and now you can send or receive a letter
