Explain the three major categories the Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) is organized around and how it is designed to provide teachers with an effective framework for instruction.

Answers should include teacher preparation, teacher instruction, and assessment. Preparation includes being certain your objectives are clear and meaningful. Instruction includes considering students' background knowledge, using appropriate language during your instruction, giving students many opportunities to use the strategies you are teaching, providing students with a variety of ways to interact with the concepts you are teaching and ensuring the students are engaged. Assessment focuses on review of concepts with regular feedback to your students.

Answers should include information about inquiry learning, differentiated instruction, RTI, transliteracy, etc.
