Answer to Question 1

C
Another helpful method for test preparation and review in addition to the ARKO strategy is the ABC-Safe-Comfort Tips method. This method recommends approaching a test question by reviewing Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and assessing the patient situation according to: 1) assess ABCs first (ABCs: airway-breathing-circulation); 2) assess safety needs second; 3) assess comfort and healing third; and, finally, 4) consider any teaching needs. This order should be used when prioritizing nursing actions.

Answer to Question 2

B
Because the behavior has continued without correction, the nurse manager must take further action.
Since both verbal and written warnings have been given the most likely next step for the nurse
manager to take would be to suspend the new graduate nurse.
