Answer to Question 1

A
The nurse manager should participate in strategic planning and quality initiatives with the go-verning body. Lack of knowledge is a common reason for nonparticipation in planning initiatives.

Answer to Question 2

A
Termination requires careful planning as to timing, privacy, safety, and how to preserve the em-ployee's dignity and avoid humiliation. Choosing a private location where colleagues are not present, and organizing all documentation that is required to be given to Gregory, achieves these goals and prevents his having to come to the organization at a future date.
