Time management will not be effective if the manager is expected to respond to messages as soon as they arrive. Managers can set a rule to check e-mails two to three times per day rather than constantly and should use a sorting a flagging methodology to effectively manage the need for follow-up. Managers should not utilize meetings in order to read and respond to messages.
