Answer to Question 1

B, C, D
Lawrence Kohlberg (1971) noted three phases or levels of moral development that humans progress through. These three phases/levels are: 1) preconventional (morals are about rules imposed by some authority), 2) conventional (people begin to internalize their own view of themselves in regards to something meaningful), and 3) postconventional (independent thinker).

Answer to Question 2

C
According to Kohlberg's theory, people at the conventional level want to please, help others, be dutiful, and show respect for authority. At this level conformity to expected social and religious morals and a sense of loyalty emerge. In the preconventional level morals are about rules imposed by someone else. In the postconventional level the person strives for a moral code and has respect for the dignity of all mankind.
