Answer to Question 1

D
Lawrence Kohlberg (1971) identified a moral development process that progresses throughout various levels. At the first, or preconventional level, morals are all about rules imposed by some authority. Moral decisions are made at this point to some threat of punishment. A desire to being a good person and wanting approval from others comes at the conventional level. At the postconventional level a person strives for a moral code beyond merely the respect for authority.

Answer to Question 2

C
The ethical principle of beneficence concerns the duty to do good to others and to maintain a balance between harms and benefits. A nurse who provides all patients with caring attention is displaying the principle of beneficence. Nonmaleficence is the principle of doing no harm. Teleology believes that people must take the actions that lead to good outcomes. Fidelity pertains to the principle of keeping one's promises or the duty to keep one's word.
