An emergency department (ED) manager is disciplining a nurse with a history of multiple client and staff complaints. The last disciplinary action was a verbal warning.

An ICU manager has had 50 percent turnover in the staff within the past 6 months. The manager has struggled to provide proper training.
 
  The director of this unit has informed the manager it is the managers responsibility to train staff and address issues. The manager must discipline a nurse regarding her performance within the past 2 weeks. The manager is hesitant to discipline the nurse because the: 1. Nurse is constantly complaining about the work environment.
