Ans: B
The IOM report recommended that both licensing bodies and specialty certification
bodies require health professionals to demonstrate in some way their continued competence in
the previously determined core competencies. The report does not advocate the development of
separate core competencies, the isolation of each profession, or changes to workforce
regulations.
