Answer to Question 1

Correct Answer: 3

The shrinking of the worldwide community requires that nurses become more knowledgeable about and accepting of cultural difference. Nurses need to be aware of different beliefs about health and illness and different cultural healing practices. The nurses of tomorrow need to be more than culturally aware and need to strive for cultural competence. Medical care development is not within the scope of nursing. Advanced practice nursing certification is done by ANCC and not at the local hospital level. There is not testing to determine the standard of practice. The standard of practice is determined by local and regional processes of care delivery.

Answer to Question 2

Correct Answer: 3

Even though computerization has great benefits such as access and input to patient records, it has also caused concerns due to confidentiality and data security. Healthcare costs have been reduced with the use of electronic medical records. Computer literacy of the public is not a concern for the nurse using electronic medical records. Medical errors have been shown to decease in areas using electronic medical records.
