Answer to Question 1

Correct Answer: 2

In response to the WWII nursing shortage and in line with the desire of professional nursing organizations in the United States to advance nursing's professional standing, a 2-year associate degree nursing program was developed for the junior/community colleges. The other options did not influence the development of the associate degree.

Answer to Question 2

Correct Answer: 4

The master's degree programs in nursing education being accredited by AACN are asked to provide an area of clinical competence for the graduates who will be teaching student nurses. The American Association of Colleges of Nursing has not issued a statement on malpractice insurance for nurses. Medical diagnosis and critical care skills are taught in basic associate or bachelor degree programs of nursing.
