Answer to Question 1

Correct Answer: 3

Across history, nursing leaders have cared deeply about the society in which they lived. Many of these leaders did not have an official job position and power was focused on caring, not on influence over others. Whereas some nurse leaders were wealthy (Nightingale), others were from poor surroundings (Truth). Nursing leaders have focused on care in hospitals, homes, communities, and across the nation and world.

Answer to Question 2

Correct Answer: 4

Discussing the Critical Thinking Exercises in the book with classmates can enhance and expand the student's understanding of text content. These exercises have multiple answer possibilities, and it is often best to work in groups on the answers. Simply looking up answers in the book is not a good way to learn.
