Nurses must examine their attitudes about alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse and addiction before working with this health problem. Why is this necessary?
 
  1. Working with clients who have addiction problems often put the nurse at risk for violence.
  2. The population of persons with drug and alcohol addiction is found in low-income neighborhoods.
  3. In order to be therapeutic, a nurse must develop a trusting nonjudgmental rela-tionship with clients.
  4. Nurses are the primary persons who treat addiction problems.
