  a. How clergy are trained and their areas of expertise
  b. The economic status of the parishioners and their ability to pay the nurse
  c. The policies and procedures of the religious order in which they practice
  d. Lines of authority and channels of communication in the faith community

Question 2

A faith community nurse would like to be certified in this specialty. After contacting the International Parish Nurse Resource Center, the nurse learns that specialty certification is not available for faith community nursing practice.
 
  Why does certification not exist for this specialty? a. Faith community nurses do not follow the American Nurses Association guide-lines for practice.

Faith community nurses work in churches, synagogues, temples, mosques, and other faith com-munity settings and not health care facilities; consequently, certification has little bearing on the decision of a committee or board in the community.
