Other strategies for enhancing quality during the coding and analysis of qualitative data include investigator triangulation (independent coding and analysis of some of the data by two or more researchers); external validation through peer debriefings (exposing the inquiry to the searching questions of peers); and launching an inquiry audit (a formal scrutiny of audit trail documents by an independent auditor).
