Answer to Question 1

B

Answer to Question 2

B
Feedback:
Research data (singular, datum) are the pieces of information gathered in a study. In quantitative studies, researchers identify and define their variables, and then collect relevant data from subjects. The actual values of the study variables constitute the data. Quantitative researchers collect primarily quantitative datainformation in numeric form. In this question it is 107 oz. Length of time in labor, I practically slept through the whole thing, and vaginal versus cesarean delivery are not documented as numeric values in this example.

Dogs have been used in studies to detect various cancers in human subjects. They have been trained to sniff breath samples from humans that were collected by having them breathe into special tubes. The dogs detected 54 of the 55 lung cancer patients as having cancer, detected 28 of the 31 breast cancer patients, and gave only three false-positive results (detecting cancer in people who didn't have it).
