Answer to Question 1

ANS: B
The double blind randomized controlled trial generally provides the highest level of evidence, followed by other randomized controlled trials. Clinical expertise, case studies, and systematic reviews are not at the top of the hierarchy of evidence.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: A
Nurses have always used various resources for problem solving. However, not all of these re-sources are reliable and all have not consistently produced desired outcomes. Authority does not always lead to faulty decision making. Ethical knowledge should be taken into account when making clinical judgments. Trial and error may or may not lead to poor outcomes.
