Answer to Question 1

ANS: A
Interval-scale measurement is distinguished from ratio level in that there is no zero point on the interval scale. A temperature of zero does not indicate the absence of temperature. Changes in temperature, however, have equal numerical distance between the intervals of the temperature scale, and the temperature value is expressed as a continuum. These properties indicate an interval level of measurement.
Nominal level of measurement simply names the categories.
In ordinal-scale measurement, data are assigned to categories than can be ranked.
Ratio level of measurement meets requirements for interval and has an absolute zero.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: D
Ratio-scale measurement, the highest form of measurement, has an absolute zero point. This means the value of zero indicates the absence of the property being measured. In this case because we could have a hemoglobin measurement of zero, we determine that hemoglobin is measured at the ratio level.
Interval level of measurement has equal intervals between each designation.
Nominal level of measurement simply names the categories.
In ordinal measurement, data are assigned to categories than can be ranked.

Chronic necrotizing aspergillosis has a slowly progressive process that, unlike invasive aspergillosis, does not spread to other organ systems or the blood vessels. It most often affects middle-aged and elderly individuals, spreading to surrounding tissue in the lungs. The disease often does not respond to conventionally successful treatments, and requires individualized therapies in order to keep it from becoming life-threatening.
