Answer to Question 1

ANS: A
The AAP recommends exclusive breastfeeding for about the first six months of a baby's life, followed by breastfeeding in combination with the introduction of complementary foods until at least 12 months of age, and continuation of breastfeeding for as long as mutually desired by mother and baby.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: B
Unlike any other care setting, clients are inmates, and care is negotiated and provided with recognition of safety and security issues for the nurse. The nurse must maintain an escape route, should a situation of personal violence be imminent. If the nurse is able to maintain an escape route, the nurse would then be able to complete a physical assessment, stop the bleeding, and then report the incident to administration.
