Answer to Question 1

ANS: A, E
As published, the two goals are to increase quality and years of healthy life and eliminate health disparities. Expanding health promotion activities in every community, improving funding and improving health outcomes, and reducing mortality and morbidity are not the primary goals of Healthy People 2020.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: B, F
Neither administering bedside clinical nursing nor teaching family members to deliver care in the home has adequately addressed the true determinants of health and disease. The early public health nurses resolved that collective political activity should focus on improving social and environmental conditions such as poverty.
