Why were Texas supreme court justices in the news in the late 1980s?
 
  a. They overturned an important piece of Texas legislation.
  b. There were allegations of power abuses and accusations of trading votes for campaign contributions.
  c. It was the first time the court had a majority of conservative judges.
  d. The legislature passed an amendment that changed their positions from elected to appointed seats.
