b. piney woods: timber, gas and oil

d. south Texas prairie: cattle, agriculture (cotton, vegetable and fruit), tourism
2. West: Western Highlands
a. Edwards plateau: sheep and goats, wine grapes, exotic game animals
b. Llano uplift: minerals, some agriculture (Germans)
