Ideally, in providing context and commentary on political events, news outlets with different perspectives such as The Nation and The National Review play a vital role in the democratic process by
 
  a. facilitating and advocating public debate of the issues, thus increasing voter awareness.
  b. calming public furor over certain events.
  c. advocating for the governments favor.
  d. fulfilling the governments needs.
  e. always providing balanced coverage so the public can make up its own mind.
