The ordinal scale serves as a ranking measure. An example would be height. In the third level of measurement, the interval scale, items have equal points. . In the ratio scale, all qualities of the lesser scales and an absolute zero are available. If one looks at time, naming, ranking, adding,
subtracting, multiplying, dividing and an absolute zero (i.e., 0 seconds) are inherent in the scale.
