Until the early 1980s, presidential primaries were fewer and farther apart. Discuss how presidential campaigns have had to change in the modern era of more primaries that are closer together.

Answer to Question 1

An ideal response will:
1, Highlight the new limitations on raising money, organizing, attending campaign events, and developing media strategies for each state.
2, Explain why these limitations as well as more and closer primaries prevent candidates from building momentum.
