An ideal response will:
1, Define generational effect as the situation in which younger citizens are influenced by events in such a fashion that their attitudes and beliefs are forever rendered distinct from those of older generations.
2, Identify a political event relevant to Carl's generation, explaining the likely impact of the event on Carl's political attitudes. The event should postdate Carl's birth.
