1, Describe the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, which prohibited discrimination in federal employment on the basis of physical or mental disability, required the federal government and its contractors to make reasonable accommodations, and mandated affirmative action in hiring.
2, Describe the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, which placed the same requirements on state governments and the private sector by prohibiting discrimination in employment, in all programs and services of state and local governments, and in public accommodations.
3, Identify that anti-discrimination remedies for the disabled can be avoided if they are too costly or would impose undue hardship.
