An ideal response will:
1, Define amicus curiae.
2, Discuss how an amicus, or friend of the court, can submit a brief in favor of one of the parties or to the court directly.
3, Explain why an amicus curiae, because the individual or company is not a party to the proceedings, can have more credibility with the court.
