Answer: An ideal response will:
1. Define strict construction as the belief that courts should interpret the Constitution as the Framers wrote and originally intended it.
2. Give an example of how strict constructionism might guide judges as they decide a particular case.

Answer: An ideal response will:
1. Note that review by the Supreme Court is discretionary and not automatic.
2. Explain that in order for a case to be heard by the Supreme Court, at least four justices must vote to hear the case.
