ANS: Because anthropologists believe that the disappearance of any people group is a basic human rights issue and needs to be addressed. The preservation of culture is a major tenant of anthropology as many indigenous groups have been pushed off their lands or removed in the name of progress.

ANS: According to this theory, the rich and poor nations of the world are not fundamentally different because of innate cultural features, but rather because of how they have operated within the world system, including exploitation of labor and resources by wealthy nations.
