ANS: Answers may include painting, sculpture, printmaking, architecture, weaving, embroidery, tailoring, jewelry making, tattooing, wood carving, and metalworking.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: Other societies may not have professional art establishments, and their artistic standards tend to be more democratic in that they are maintained by the general public. Thus the decoration on a vase, the rhythm of a song, the communicative power of a dance, and
the imagery of a painting are subject to the evaluation of artists and non-artists alike.
