These are used to express and affirm the structure of male relationships and male solidarity; it is a period in which males learn the beliefs, skills, and knowledge necessary to function as a member of that society.

Answer to Question 2

Colonialism often caused alternative genders to decline in visibility, practice, and acceptance because of the influence of missionization. This was not entirely true in India.
