Answer: The ideal answer will include:
1. Physical isolation: Wives were often unable to travel or communicate with people outside the family.
2. Social isolation: Gender roles discourage women from working outside the home and men are dominant within the home.
3. Institutional isolation: Few social services for abused women were available, and there were few child-care options.

Answer: The ideal answer will include:
1. A nuclear household contains one adult couple with or without children.
2. It is associated with foragers and industrial/digital economies because of the need for flexibility and mobility.
3. An extended household comprises more than one parentchild unit.
4. It is more associated with agricultural, horticultural, and pastoralist societies.
