2. The spending may be time, labor, or money depending on the context.
3. Free-ranging foragers spend most on basic needs.
4. In consumerist societies, more spending is necessary to address the funds. Rent and tax are prominent.

2. Direct entitlements represent direct access to a resource and are secure.
3. An example is the ownership of land that produces food.
