3. Pastoralists apply use rights to access to grazing lands, but are understood to own their animals.
4. Agricultural societies typically have formal ownership of land and other assets.
5. Industrial/digital economies have formal ownership rights of all resources.

1. The formal sector is salaried or wage-based work that is officially recognized and recorded.
2. The informal sector is not officially recognized and is often illegal.
3. An example of formal sector work is wage labor in a factory.
4. An example of informal sector work is prostitution.
