Older adults with COPD have a lowered tolerance of aerobic exercise. They are less able to adjust to increased body oxygen needs. An aggressive aerobic program would be inappropriate. Responses B, C, and D all are self-care activities that would be appropriate to teach for an older adult with COPD.

Medications are quite expensive for older adults on fixed incomes. It is common for older adults to have monthly medication bills more than 100 . Responses A, B, and D could be reasons that an older adult misses doses of medications, but they do not address the fact that the older adult is trying to make the prescription last longer.
