Hypertension is a silent disease that is often first noticed on a random blood pressure reading. Generally, an older adult who is diagnosed with hypertension must take medications for the rest of his or her life to keep blood pressure in the normal range. Responses B, C, and Ddiet changes, monitoring for postural blood pressure changes, and exercise plansare excellent health promotion activities for older adults with hypertension.

C
Responses A, B, and D are correct and are the three areas where changes must be noted. Response C is incorrect because family status plays only a part in psychological status.
